Therapy

playful, Queer, Real

Holi! I’m Bea (they/elle); a queer, mixed, chicanx therapist based in Philly. My approach to therapy is rooted in values of abolitionism, harm-reduction, and collective movement towards liberation. I consider my work sacred. I believe that to move towards deep interconnectedness is to move towards health.

Offerings

Individual Therapy

I support people in coming home to their bodies and emotional selves to restore them to their dignity and agency, and empowering them to live their lives more fully and more bravely.

At times our therapy will be supportive in nature, offering a container for self exploration with a practiced guide. And at times it will be healing in nature, doing the excavation and paradigm shifting necessary to feel meaningful change.

Relationship Therapy

I provide couples and relationship therapy for romantic partnerships, polycules, chosen family, best friends, and whoever else you may want to dive deep with, to help you hear and witness each other more fully and to find stability, security, and safe(r), rich intimacy in your connections.

Supervision & Consultation

I offer consultation for established therapists who feel stuck in their work, or seek to carry the load together, as well as supervision towards licensure hours in the state of Pennsylvania for therapists with preliminary licenses who are interested in eldership and growth in my clinical lineage.

Style

In my practice I use somatic exercises, Internal Family Systems (“parts work”), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), guided meditation and visualization, ritual, play, ceremony, laughter, ancestor and altar-work, and other practices that are culturally-rooted for myself and my clients to facilitate processing and healing of the traumatic imprints that life can leave upon us.

Bringing my full self to my work is important to me. For my clients this means receiving a therapist that is honest, direct, curious, and straight forward. I am impacted deeply by the people with whom I work and am humbled by, and grateful for, the ways in which my clients reach towards intimacy with me even after having experienced so much hurt. I do not take the privilege of working alongside you lightly and am grateful for the opportunity to be let in.

I specialize in work with clients who are exploring and coming into identities of queerness, exploring mixed-race and bicultural identity-development, healing from early attachment disruptions such as childhood neglect and sexual assault, and work with clients who have experienced significant rupture in past therapeutic relationships.

I also enjoy working with queer couples, high conflict couples, couples navigating polyamory, couples in anxious-avoidant attachment dynamics, and couples navigating intimacy issues and infidelity.
